TERESA BHATTACHARYA

A graduate from Stella Maris College, Teresa Bhattacharya had a distinguished career in the Indian Administrative Service, holding several posts such as Director (Women and Child Welfare Department), Commissioner (Bangalore City Corporation) and Secretary (Higher Education). She retired in 2002 as Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka. She has helped and encouraged this publishing venture from the start, and insists that Unisun Publications should maintain high standards of excellence and ensure transparency and complete integrity in all its activities.

MAHESH DATTANI

Mahesh Dattani, winner of the Sahitya Akademi Award, famous director, actor, dancer and playwright needs no introduction. He has directed plays like Dance Like a Man, Tara, and Final Solutions (for which he received the Sahitya Akademi Award). He is ‘a playwright of world stature,’ says Mario Relich, Wasafiri while Stephen Bruckner of The New York Times calls him, ‘Powerful and disturbing.’ Dattani’s film, Morning Raga, an original screenplay based on the life of a classical singer, won the award for best Artistic Contribution and was nominated for the Golden Pyramid at the Cairo International Film Festival. He was awarded the Mostra Lambda Award for best motion picture at the Barcelona Film Festival for his film Mango Soufflé. He now lives in Mumbai.

ARUNDHATI RAJA

A versatile actor, innovative director and qualified teacher, Arundhati Raja has over twenty years teaching experience. She made her debut on the Bangalore stage in 1977 and has played demanding roles ranging from Martha in Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? to her widely-acclaimed portrayal of Maria in A Woman Alone. She is the Artistic Director of ART, a professional English Language theatre company founded (with husband Jagdish) in 1982. She has directed several of ART's productions including Animal Farm, choreographed to Indian music and dance.
